SIMS day:
Every two years, we organise a day of talks and posters presenting the results obtained by SIMS in our lab. The last edition of the SIMS day was on June 24th, 2022. The program can be found here.
SwissSIMS Winter School 2025 :
The second edition of the SwissSIMS Winterschool took place at Geopolis, from January 20th to 24th 2025. Three invited speakers (Laurette Piani, CRPG, Matt Kilburn, IAEA and Martin Whitehouse, Museum of Natural History Stockholm) presented diverse SIMS applications: cosmochemistry, nuclear safeguards and geochronology. Priya Ramakrishna (EPFL) and Ting-Ting Fu (UNIGE) also presented different SIMS techniques: Cryo-NanoSIMS and Tof-SIMS, respectively. During the week, SwissSIMS users and team members also presented their projects. In addition, the participants had theoretical introduction about the SIMS techniques and practiced the data reduction.
SIMS Winter School 2023 (first edition):
The course “Initiation to Ion probe” taught in the Master ELSTE (UNIL-UNIGE) will be replaced by a full week of lectures and pratices. The first edition will take place from January 16th to 20th, 2023. The SIMS Winter School will be open to ELSTE Master students, PhD students and possibly postdoctoral fellows. SIMS-NanoSIMS Workshop – Goldschmidt 2023
In 2023 we organized, at the University of Lausanne between 6th and 8th of July 2023, a SIMS-NanoSIMS workshop before the Goldschmidt Conference 2023 in Lyon. The main goal of this workshop was to gather specialists and experts in Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS and NanoSIMS) to cover technical and scientific aspects of geochemical micro and nanoanalysis. It has brought together scientists and students, laboratory managers and instrument manufacturers to discuss the state-of-the-art of SIMS and NanoSIMS analysis and scientific results.
50 people attended onsite, and 11 online. The schedule can be found here: https://wp.unil.ch/workshopsims/program/
